Nocturne is our favourite night of the entire year and we have something INCREDIBLE planned for this year, in partnership with the incredible Rita Van Tassel.

Keeping OCTopied: Activities of Octopuses on Land
Atlantic Canadians have always had a natural relationship with the ocean and it’s inhabitants but as water levels rise we’re forced to re-think where we live and how to do so sustainably. After decades of polluting the oceans and encroaching on their environment, what might it look like if the animals began integrating themselves into OUR daily spaces? Textile artist Rita Van Tassel will transform the studio room of Trainyard Generl Store into a whimsical installation of giant stitched octopuses engaging in common human activities (crafting, playing chess, exercising, etc.) There will be an interactive element as viewers are invited to sit with and interact with the pieces for photos!
