Our 2017-2018 Community Winter Window

In the Fall of 2017 we put a call out on Social Media, asking for Community Partners to create a fun window display for us for the holidays! One of the awesome submissions we received was from the 1st Dartmouth Sparks, who spent a Sunday morning in December creating these fun penguins for our first ever Community Window display!

Sparks are the youngest participants in Girl Guides programs, most about 5 year old. They created penguins gathered around a campfire, and doing some skating!  Their awesome leader Sarah, actually made tiny pink hats for all the penguins, to match hats she’s made for the Sparks!

This week is the anniversary of Girl Guides & Scouts- did you know both have been running programs for children for over 100 years? You can learn more: Girl Guides of Canada – Nova Scotia Council

This window & the love that went into it have been making people happy since it was put up in December! We have overheard many kids outside the window trying to choose their favourite penguin!

We’re beginning to think about our Spring community window- please get in touch if you have ideas!
