Shipping & Delivery

 

A quick note to say, we know shipping costs are the worst! The reality is no company can actually offer truly FREE shipping or delivery as it all comes with a cost that must be absorbed and small businesses like The Trainyard are much less capable of absorbing those costs. Almost all delivery and shipping fees charged with your orders are $3-5 less than the cost we pay (before taxes+fees), sometimes closer to $8-12 less than the cost we are charged by carriers. 

Local Delivery

We offer local delivery to the following postal codes through Haligone. Fees are based on postal code and distance from the shop. The rate will show before for you complete the checkout process, and is typically between $15-20.

      • Postal Codes: B3H, B3J, B3L, B3K, B2X, B2W, B2V, B0J 3A0, B3B, B3M, B3S, B3N, B4A
      • Postal Code: B3P, B3G
      • Postal Codes: B3R, B2R, B4B, B4C, B4E, B4G

Delivery is same or next day (afternoon, typically between 2-7pm) Monday to Friday. Purchases will be packed in a paper bag.

Delivery for orders placed Friday after 12pm - through Monday are typically delivered on Tuesday afternoon, depending on seasonal store hours. Orders are not delivered on Saturdays and Sundays (or Mondays when the shop is closed). 

Please include instructions on where packages should be left in the order notes. If your order is to a weekday only location (ie. office building) PLEASE indicate that in the order notes. 


Shipping

We aim to process all orders for shipping on WEDNESDAYS each week! When time allows they may ship earlier, but please expect a slight delay for orders placed later in the week.

Orders will receive a tracking number through our shipping partner ClickShip and orders are shipped with whatever major carrier offers the best rate to your location.

Orders typically arrive within 3-7 business days for Maritime addresses, but may take longer to arrive at other Canadian addresses. Please see tracking number for updated location. Once the package has left The Trainyard, we cannot be responsible for it.

All packages are shipped using recycled packaging materials to reduce our environmental impact.  

Shipping Rates

We are currently offering a flat rate shipping fee of $20 to most Canadian addresses. 

Lettermail shipping is currently not available.

In the event items in your order arrive damaged please contact us immediately, hello@trainyardstore.com

Please contact us as soon as possible if you have any special shipping instructions or need to change the address. If the parcel has not been dispatched, we will try to accommodate your request. We are not responsible for shipping costs on packages returned to us due to incorrect addresses. 

 

Local Order Pick Up

You'll receive confirmation with pick up instructions once your order is prepared. Same day pick up is NOT guaranteed on weekends due to the volume of in-store customers; Orders placed Friday at 5pm through Monday evening will most often be ready for pick up on Tuesdays. Please try to collect your purchase within one week of ordering. We will not store purchases for longer than 3 months; such items will be considered abandoned. 

Please wait for confirmation before arriving to pick up your order to avoid disappointment. If you don't receive an order confirmation email within 48 hours please check your junk mail or contact us (902) 407-5242.
