April Community Collective Dates

Posted by Kimberley Dares on

Join Kelly beginning at 5PM for two hours of crafting on Tuesday evenings! Please note some details have changed since we last offered workshops:
  • Workshops are FREE to attend and materials provided for in store use. Donations of non-perishable goods for the Dartmouth Community Fridge are greatly appreciated, suggested items: pasta & sauce, canned goods, bars & crackers, pantry staples.
  • Registration is now REQUIRED! Please call the morning of the workshop to reserve a spot in that evenings workshop. This allows us to prepare enough materials, and ensure there will be enough space for everyone to work on their project. We are at the shop and ready for phone calls at 10AM, (902) 407-5242; Emails and messages cannot be used to reserve a spot.
  • Materials will be free to use in store and projects are yours to keep; Should you wish to take materials home to continue working (embroidery hoops, felting needles, felting blocks, burlap, rug hooks, etc) a small charge to cover the cost of these items will apply.

MARCH 28- Finish A Project: Have a project that you started at a workshop and didn’t finish, or have a project from home that you’d like to work on? Want to get creative with some company? These nights are open ended so you can work on finishing a project, share tips and tricks with others. There may be simple projects like cards for community offered as well!

APRIL 4- Needle Felting for beginners and beyond! Learn the basics or pick up where you left off with a fun and simple needle felting project.

APRIL 11- Intro to Crochet: Learn to crochet a colourful granny square, bring your own yarn if you have colour preferences!

APRIL 18 - Finish A Project: Have a project that you started at a workshop and didn’t finish, or have a project from home that you’d like to work on? Want to get creative with some company? These nights are open ended so you can work on finishing a project, share tips and tricks with others. There may be simple projects like cards for community offered as well!

APRIL 25- Intro to Macrame: Learn basic notes and make a simple wall hanging on a dowel or stick.

Workshops will begin at 5PM and wrap up around 7PM though you are welcome to leave earlier.

To keep these events safe and comfortable for everyone masks will be required as our workshop space makes distancing difficult. We do provide masks for free at the door if you forget yours. Shared materials and spaces will be cleaned frequently.  These workshops will be offered regularly thoughout the Spring, please stay home if sick and come another time!
Hoping to register a group?: These drop ins are intended to connect the community with new friends - if you have an awesome group of crafty pals who would like to create together, please contact us to set up a private workshop time and we can sort out those details.
Kid Friendly? Ages Welcome?: The intent behind these projects is to build community so the invitation is largely extended to older teens and adults; These workshops are not intended for children and youth under 16 years of age.
Our community table is open with drop in colouring and crafting the rest of the week for kids and little ones to enjoy!
